How thy heart was our shelter
Even in the stormiest of weather
How thy heart was our courage
In the very worst of our worries
How thy heart was our determination
When we were so close to excrimination
How thy heart was our savoir
Like Rome as our boat, and you our anchor
How thy heart was our redemption
When Rome is shattering, having no reflection
How thy heart was our beauty
While, in our times of glory
How thy heart was our freedom
When we suffered as the victim
How thy heart is our world
Yet now.. it shall never be cured.

Brutus , Dear diary:
Dear Diary:
I Brutus, write to you today in times of grief and worrisome.
My great friend and leader may be at risk,
But my country may be at a greater one.
Shall my country fail in this condition?
Or shall Caesar, oh great and powerful Caesar fail?
Thy so beautiful, so noble, so honoured, and so wealthy.
Have you ever bestowed any of these great gifts on anyone else.
Wouldst thy country not come before thee?
Is this how thou repay thy people,
Thy fellow men!?
They fight to give thou freedom, thou power,
And for every villager, and Roman to give thou love and honour.
I give you love, as you give it back.
But may I love Rome more?
Shouldnt thou love Rome more.
Rome has stood while great leaders hast come and past.
No matter who is ruling, who isnt ruling.
Couldst I rule, and stand above all.
But not above, rather with.
All thine, but I rather share it.
Nurture it, as do all its villagers.
Love Rome's people as much as I've always loved Rome.
My power would never be dishonoured.
By myself, or any others.
Is this what i have longed for?
Or is this what i have dreaded?
If only you, Caesar hasts thy spirit.
Thy body would not be harmed.
Thy love would not be broken.
Thy honour would not be forever.
And our loyalty would not be shattered.
BRUTUS.

Intro ; on silent reading book.
I am reading the book Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson. Laurie has writen many other books, and all ranges ; from children's books, adults, and teens. Ive read on of her other books "Prom", it is one of my favourite and i would highly recommend it to any teenage girl. One thing i found out about Laurie Halse Anderson that i did not know. Was that Halse, in her name is pronounced as halt-z. She even said most people would pronounce the s and e, as if to say 'Hal-see', so she felt the need to make clear the pronunciation. My book is about a girl named Melinda in grade 9. She went into grade 9 having no friends due to something that happened over the summer. She now has one friend that she talks to and hangouts with. Even though her friend, Heather wants to be very involved in the school and everyone in it due to being from a different town ; Malinda still wants nothing to do with becoming apart of the school and getting into clubs and activities to get to know people. They have many discussions about this problem regularly, yet Milinda still doesnt budge. So far in school she doesnt like many of her teachers, and they all already have nicknames. She still does work and what they ask, just doesnt agree with any of it really. In the books its only october, halloween night actually and still much school and evil ex-friends to deal with. There is a group of ex-friends that go to the same school, and pick on her whenever they can get the chance. They used to be so tight, in grade eight about four of them. Now they are all separated and very different people. The setting in this book, is mostly in the school " Merryweather High" , Milinda's house, and heather's house. It seems to be in pretty modern times, and right now it's in October, halloween just pasted yesterday. The book goes throught the whole school year, I'm assuming. The atmosphere so far, that i feel is as if Milinda is hidding something inside of her, and as if shes trapped in a sad depressing place. She seems as if, she cant have fun and be a kid, or she just chooses not to. She says she likes to just lay in bed and wrap up in the covers, as if it was covering her up from the world and she just likes to lay there and not think about anything. A chamber of no worries, and no thoughts. If she needs to do this often, and likes doing it then her life must not be very fun or exciting ; especially if she would rather lay in a bed and do nothing. Milinda is the main character, she is very to shy/herself about everything, and timmid. She doesnt take chances, and mostly keeps her thoughts and opinions to herself. The only person she really talks to ; her age, is Heather and, only tells heather half of the things she really thinks or feels. She doesnt get out much either, would rather stay alone. Which makes me get the feeling that she doesnt feel the need to talk to many people anymore, and act like a normal teenager would. I think this book is very enjoyable, you can relate to some of the things she feels because she is our age and talking about highschool, teachers, friends, ex-friends, classmates, parents, and much more that we may think about everyday. Right now i think im still going through the beginning of the book because not too much has actually happened, so there is much more to read about. mainly i cant wait to hear what really happened with her over the summer, that made he whole world change. Should be fun, and exciting. :)
